On May 18, Willkie was among a small group of honorees recognized at the 2017 IFLR Americas Awards in the category of “M&A Deal of the Year.” The Willkie deal team was acknowledged specifically for its representation of U.S.-based AssetMark, Inc. in its $780 million acquisition by China-based Huatai Securities from private equity firms Aquiline Capital Partners and Genstar Capital. Willkie was also shortlisted for “Project Finance Deal of the Year” for its role in the Kingston Container Terminal PPP, “M&A Team of the Year,” and “Project Finance Team of the Year.”
