Three Willkie partners have been named “Entertainment Business Visionaries” by LA Times Studios for their accomplishments at the forefront of the entertainment industry.
Tamerlin Godley, Steven Hurdle, and Andrew Kramer were recognized among the top entertainment advisors and executives in Southern California who "exemplify innovation, leadership and a deep commitment to the success of their clients and organizations."
- Tamerlin Godley, Chair of the Entertainment Litigation Practice, was recognized for her track record managing complex business disputes and sensitive investigations for major studios, networks, and Fortune 500 companies. LA Times Studios highlighted her recent work representing Pacsun in a copyright dispute with Warner Music Group as well as leadership of sensitive international investigations. The profile also noted her advocacy for educational equity as a co-founder of Public Funds Public Schools, her role as chair of the USC Intellectual Property Institute, and her commitment to the Los Angeles community, including as secretary of the board for the Los Angeles Review of Books.
- Steve Hurdle, partner in the Entertainment Transactions Practice, was recognized for the second consecutive year for his experience advising investors and companies on mergers and transformative joint ventures across the media and technology sectors. LA Times Studios highlighted his representation of Ben Affleck's AI company InterPositive in its sale to Netflix and of Create Music Group in its $165-million investment from Flexpoint Ford. The profile also noted his representation of Shadow Lion, the entertainment and marketing studio co-founded by Tom Brady, in its investment from Fox Sports.
- Andrew Kramer, Chair of the Motion Picture, Television and Entertainment Finance Practice, was recognized for the second consecutive year for his achievements structuring high-value transactions across film, television, and digital media. The profile highlighted his recent work on the sale of Ben Affleck’s AI company InterPositive to Netflix, and his work advising 5&2 Studios in its multi-year agreements with Amazon MGM Studios for exclusive streaming and theatrical rights to the global hit series The Chosen.
