Willkie represented a subsidiary of Shizuoka Gas Co., Ltd. in the acquisition of interests in a shale gas development project in La Salle and Webb Counties, Texas, from a subsidiary of Tokyo Gas America Ltd., for $127 million.
Shizuoka Gas announced the completion of the transaction on May 30, 2025. SHIZUOKA GAS AMERICA Co., headquartered in Houston, Texas, will oversee the operation and management of the Eagle Ford shale gas development project.
The Willkie team was jointly led by partners Tan Lu and Kris Agarwal, and included counsel Jason Nasra and associate Leiying Peng, with assistance from partners Robert Jacobson, Britt Mosman, Andrew English and Dharshini Prasad, counsel Jonathan Konoff, and associates Ahmad El-Gamal and Simone Marton.
