Alex Weingarten, Managing Partner of Willkie’s Los Angeles Office and Chair of the Entertainment Litigation practice, and Beau Stapleton, partner in the Entertainment Transactions practice, have been named to The Hollywood Reporter’s 2025 Power Lawyers: Music.
Alex is a widely recognized commercial trial lawyer who represents clients in all facets of entertainment, probate and business litigation. THR selected him as one of the music industry’s go-to litigators and highlighted his recent work leading high-profile copyright infringement cases. THR highlighted his role representing Pophouse Entertainment, a global entertainment and music investment firm, in its $300 million-plus acquisition of an American rock band’s catalog as well as the name, image and likeness and merchandising rights. It also noted his work advising jazz guitarist and singer-songwriter George Benson in the sale of his music assets to HarbourView Equity Partners, and his pro bono work for the FireAid Benefit Concert that raised more than $100 million for Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts.
