Willkie advised The Davis Companies in connection with the joint venture acquisition of the retail component of Miami Worldcenter, a newly constructed urban lifestyle center.
The Davis Companies joined the Falcone Group, ROK Acquisitions, Andrew Mirmelli, and Jamestown in the joint venture to acquire approximately 300,000 square feet of upscale retail, dining and entertainment space, 2000 parking spaces, and 100,000 square feet of parks and plazas within Miami Worldcenter from the master developer of the $6 billion project. The sale reportedly marks the largest non-mall retail transaction recorded in South Florida since 2017, according to Newmark Group, Inc.
Upon full completion, the Miami Worldcenter project will include approximately 11,000 residential units in Downtown Miami, representing one of the most significant urban redevelopment projects in the United States.
