Willkie partners Anna Martini G. Pereira, Chair of the Latin America Practice Group, and Jorge Kamine, a member of the Project Finance & Investment Practice Group, were interviewed in a 2026 special Latinvex report titled “Latin America Energy: Strong Outlook.”
In an in-depth Q&A, Anna and Jorge discussed emerging trends in Latin America’s energy sector, noting opportunities for private investment in both power infrastructure and renewables as well as oil and gas production in the region. They highlighted the increasing demand for electricity arising from the development of data centers, digital infrastructure and electrification of the economy, among other salient issues.
In addition, the Q&A discussed key challenges facing the energy sector in Latin America as well as specific policies and initiatives in various countries to support investment across market segments.
