Willkie advised Lakeside in the transaction.

On April 13, Willkie client Lakeside Book Company announced the completion of its acquisition of Phoenix Color Corp. from ALJ Regional Holdings, Inc.

Phoenix is a specialty printer of book components, children's books and other print-related products with printing facilities in Indiana and Maryland.

Lakeside, an Atlas Holdings platform company, is one of the largest book printing service providers in the U.S. In addition to book manufacturing, Lakeside provides distribution, sales and marketing services, as well as intellectual property and brand protection technology to book publishers. The Phoenix acquisition is expected to enhance Lakeside’s one-stop book and cover printing services and streamline its order processing, scheduling and delivery capabilities.

Willkie previously advised Atlas Holdings in its acquisition of LSC Communications, the book division of which was subsequently rebranded the Lakeside Book Company.

The Willkie team was led by partners Steven Seidman, Mark Cognetti and Anna Martini G. Pereira, and included associate David Araoz, law clerk David Ostermann and visiting foreign law clerk Isabela Cruz Sanchez.
