Willkie advised Insight Venture Partners and ECi, an Insight portfolio company, in the sale of ECi, a leader in industry-specific business management and e-commerce software solutions. 

On March 13, Willkie client ECi Software Solutions, a leader in industry-specific business management and e-commerce software solutions, announced it has been acquired by global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group. Willkie advised Insight Venture Partners and ECi, an Insight portfolio company, in the transaction.  ECi Software Solutions is a leading provider of industry-specific business management and e-commerce software for growing and midsize companies in a broad variety of industries, including office products, office furniture, office equipment, lumber/building materials, hardware, manufacturing, retail distribution and many more.  Based in Fort Worth, Texas, ECi has offices and companies throughout the U.S., Australia, England and the Netherlands.  The Carlyle Group has approximately $189 billion of assets under management across 118 funds and 100 fund of funds vehicles as of December 31, 2013.

The deal was handled by partners Gordon Caplan, Morgan Elwyn, William Dye, Michael Katz, Christopher Peters and Theodore Whitehouse; special counsel Jonathan Konoff and associates Geri Anne McEvoy, Matthew Haddad, Alexis Anzelone and Adam Remo.
