RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. agrees to sell U.S.-based RenRe Energy Advisors Ltd. to Munich Re.
On September 3, Willkie client RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell its U.S.-based weather and weather-related energy risk management unit, RenRe Energy Advisors Ltd. ("REAL"), to Munich Re. Based in Bermuda, RenaissanceRe is a global provider of reinsurance and insurance. Recognized for expertise in weather, energy markets, modeling and portfolio management, REAL provides risk management products across the globe. The deal was led by partner Robert Stebbins and associates Amir Ghavi and Darlyn Heckman. Also assisting were partners Leslie Mazza, Henry Cohn and Michael Katz; of counsel Jack Habert and William Thomas; special counsel Catherine Harrington, Jonathan Konoff and Kim Walker; national partner Rolf Huenermann and associates Andrew Shapiro and Mark Vandehaar.
