Willkie has been profiled as a Law360 2025 Real Estate Group of the Year for its success in a series of market-leading real estate transactions.
Law360 discussed Willkie’s recent achievements with David Drewes, Co-Chair of the Real Estate Department, and partners Daniel Backer and Jennifer Coffey, highlighting the firm’s representation of Henry Crown & Co. in a $3.5 billion refinancing of Rockefeller Center, Mutual of America in its sale of a stake in 320 Park Avenue, and Saks Global in its $2.7 billion acquisition of Neiman Marcus Group, among other high-profile matters.
David Drewes, who was also recently named a Law360 Real Estate MVP for the second time, noted how Willkie regularly integrates elite practice groups from across the firm to advise on a wide array of transactions, spanning a variety of clients, asset types and deal structures.
"We have folks in other departments involved in virtually every transaction we work on," David told Law360. "Our close ties to our colleagues across departments and across certain competencies situate us well to work on more complicated, more technically structured types of transactions."
The profile also highlighted Willkie’s work advising a hospitality company on its $1.5 billion refinancing and Harbor Group International on a joint venture to recapitalize a multifamily development portfolio as well as on the $300 million acquisition of a portfolio of apartment communities.
