Willkie partners David Drewes, Co-Chair of the Real Estate Department, and Brett Miller, U.S. Co-Chair of the Restructuring Department, have been named 2025 Law360 MVPs for their accomplishments at the leading edge of the industry.
Law360 recognized David and Brett among the outstanding attorneys who “distinguished themselves from their peers by securing significant achievements in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.”
David has been named a Real Estate MVP for the second time in a decade, further establishing him as one of the top real estate transactional attorneys nationwide. He represents a broad variety of clients, including private developers, private equity and hedge funds, public real estate companies, lenders, preferred equity investors and other real estate investors in transactions involving all real estate asset classes, ranging from hospitality to senior housing, office buildings to residential/multifamily projects, and the acquisition, development and repositioning of retail assets.
Brett has been recognized as one of the year’s Bankruptcy MVPs, an award he previously received in 2014, highlighting his longstanding leadership in the field. He advises on chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings, bankruptcy-related acquisitions, cross-border insolvency matters, bankruptcy-related litigation, and insolvency-sensitive transactions. His clients include official and ad hoc creditors’ committees, bank groups, individual lenders, court-appointed fiduciaries, debtors, and investors that focus on distressed situations.
David and Brett are among the attorneys Law360 selected as MVPs from a pool of approximately 900 nominations. They will be profiled in the coming weeks.
