The fourth annual list honors exceptional female lawyers in the New York City metropolitan area.

Crain’s New York Business named partners Rosalind Fahey Kruse and Rachel Strickland to its fourth annual “Notable Women in Law" list, which honors dedicated and talented female attorneys in the New York City metropolitan area for their achievements in the law, professional leadership and philanthropic activities.

A partner in Willkie’s Corporate & Financial Services Department and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Ms. Kruse is recognized for her 20+ year track record of leading multibillion-dollar transactions for private equity firms and their portfolio companies, while also increasing the presence and power of women at the firm and her broader community. Crain’s highlights her leading role advising clients on industry-changing M&A and private equity matters, leadership role within the firm, and active role in New York-based organizations including the Women in Law Empowerment Forum’s global advisory board, and the Corporation Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Ms. Strickland, Co-Chair of Willkie’s Business Reorganization & Restructuring Department and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, is recognized for steering clients through some of the biggest bankruptcies in history, including distressed companies through complex Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings, and strategic investors seeking to maximize recoveries or acquire distressed entities. Crain’s also highlights her prominent recognition by Chambers USA, Turnarounds & Workouts and election as a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.

Crain’s New York named 103 New Yorkers to the list of 2021 Notable Women in Law, noting “these impressive attorneys were chosen not only for their skills and accomplishments, but also for their efforts to shore up the edifice of justice… Ultimately, each notable lawyer was selected for her professional achievements and her pro bono work or involvement in industry and community organizations.” To read the full Crain's 2021 "Notable Women in Law" feature, click here.
