Weston T. Eguchi is a partner in both the Finance Department and the Strategic Capital and Restructuring Department. Wes has over 20 years’ experience representing lenders (including credit funds, distressed debt investors, banks and ad hoc groups), administrative agents, borrowers, sponsors and buyers in connection with out-of-court restructurings and recapitalizations, debt financing transactions, distressed business sales and chapter 11 and 15 commercial bankruptcy cases. His work advising lenders includes a broad range of strategies including specialty and opportunistic lending, distressed investing, loan-to-own, comprehensive amend & extend or liability management transactions, loan sales and full or partial equitization transactions.
 
Wes was part of the Willkie teams recognized by IFLR Americas Award for the “Private Equity Deal of the Year” for their role in Brookfield Business Partners’ acquisition of Westinghouse Electric Company and by IFLR Europe Awards for the “Restructuring Deal of the Year” for their role in the restructuring of CGG S.A. He is recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the area of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law.
 
Wes is also active in pro bono matters supporting veterans, including disability benefits, combat related special compensation, traumatic injury protection insurance and discharge upgrade cases.
