Willkie is advising Platinum Equity as financing counsel in connection with its acquisition of the Products & Healthcare Services segment of global healthcare solutions company Owens & Minor (NYSE: OMI).
Platinum Equity recently announced that it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Owens & Minor’s Products & Healthcare Services business, a leading national distributor of medical and surgical supplies for hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers. Owens & Minor will retain a five percent interest in the business following the divestiture.
Platinum Equity has invested in numerous healthcare and supply chain businesses and has 30 years of experience acquiring and operating global businesses that have been part of large corporate entities.
Founded in 1995 by Tom Gores, Platinum Equity is a global investment firm with approximately $50 billion of assets under management and a portfolio of approximately 60 operating companies that serve customers around the world.
