Willkie is representing Fonds Stratégique de Participations (FSP), an alliance of seven French insurance companies, in connection with the proposed capital increase of Eutelsat (Euronext Paris/London Stock Exchange: ETL), a leading European satellite communications provider specializing in the deployment of low Earth orbit satellites.
FSP, a key shareholder of Eutelsat, is investing further in the company as part of a capital increase that is supported by the French government. The two-part capital raise will be carried out through an initial €716 million reserved capital increase, subscribed to by the French State (through the Agence des Participations de l'Etat), FSP and other key reference shareholders, as well as a pro rata rights issue of €634 million to the investors.
Upon completion of the transactions, FSP will hold 5.22% of the share capital and voting rights of Eutelsat, with the French State holding a 29.99% stake in the company.
FSP is a long-term investment vehicle whose shareholders and directors are seven major French insurance companies: BNP Paribas Cardif, BPCE Assurances, CNP Assurances, Crédit Agricole Assurances, Groupama, Société Générale Assurances, and Suravenir.
