Willkie recently represented Odinsa S.A., a Colombian transportation infrastructure company owned by Grupo Argos, in the sale of a 50% stake in certain of its airport concessions to a Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) affiliate as part of the expansion of the infrastructure platform the two partners formed in a groundbreaking transaction that closed earlier this year in which Willkie also represented Odinsa.

Through this multi-stage, approximately $160 million sale, Odinsa will extend its strategic partnership with MAM into a new sector (airport concessions) and jurisdiction (Ecuador). The platform will initially manage the parties’ interests in the concessionaires operating the El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá and the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito.

Odinsa and MAM will continue to hold the Colombian assets in a Colombian private equity fund (Fondo de Capital Privado), and will separately own their interests in the Ecuadorian assets. As with the toll roads platform launched with the previous transaction, Odinsa and MAM will seek to develop significant initiatives in the aviation sector in Colombia, Ecuador and beyond.

The Willkie team was led by partners Maria-Leticia Ossa Daza and Jorge Kamine and included associates Matthew Vitorla, Pablo Benjumea Gutierrez and Christian Vidaurre.
