Willkie represented Genstar Capital and its portfolio company Apex Group in the transaction.

Willkie advised Apex Group Ltd., a global financial services provider, on its participation in a Series A funding round for blockchain technology company, Inveniam Capital Partners. The Series A funding follows consistent growth since Inveniam’s inception, with company forward-looking accounts estimating assets on the platform to approach $200 billion by year end 2023.

Founded in 2017, Inveniam Capital Partners operates at the cutting edge of blockchain technology offering a platform which facilities the trading of infrequently traded and otherwise illiquid private assets through the provision of trusted market data and the creation and distribution of digital financial instruments.

Willkie previously advised Genstar on the acquisition of Apex Fund Services and Equinoxe Alternative Investment Services and has advised on several bolt-ons and minority investments undertaken by Apex subsequently. The Willkie team has also advised Genstar and Apex on a significant minority investment in Apex by TA Associates which completed in the second quarter of 2021.
