Amyris, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMRS), a leading synthetic biotechnology company in the Clean Health and Beauty markets, acquired Costa Brazil, a luxury clean cosmetics business, from controlling shareholders and co-founders Michele Levy and Francisco Costa.

Michele Levy is a successful entrepreneur, founder of Melissa shoes US and co-founder of Costa Brazil, who takes pride on the partnership with Francisco Costa to create an innovative clean cosmetic product responsibly sourced from the Brazilian Amazon. Costa Brazil’s mission is to create products that are beneficial to the body and the spirit—as well as the earth.

Amyris is a science and technology leader in the research, development and production of sustainable ingredients for the clean health & beauty markets. With the acquisition of Costa Brazil, Amyris plans to boost Costa Brazil’s growth providing an array of exclusive technologies, state-of-the-art machine learning, robotics and artificial intelligence.
