Lagardère Sells its Sports Marketing Unit to H.I.G. Capital

Paris office represented Lagardère on the contemplated sale of Lagardère Sports, a leading global sports marketing firm, to H.I.G. Capital.

Willkie represented Lagardère on the contemplated sale of its leading global sports marketing firm, Lagardère Sports, to H.I.G. Capital. Lagardère will retain a 24.9% stake in the company. The transaction is subject to clearance by the relevant antitrust authorities.

Lagardère Sports is a leading global sports marketing firm providing sponsorship, media and brand consulting, as well as event management and athlete management services. With approximately 1,300 full-time employees, the company generates annual sales of more than €450 million. The company, which will be rebranded following the completion of the sale, has long-standing relationships with major brands and rights holders in the sports market and leverages a truly global network of partners and customers.

The deal team was led by partner Annette Péron and included partner Faustine Viala and associates Georges Balit, Marie Aubard and Sarah Bouchon.
