Willkie represented Zurich in the $409 million acquisition.
On February 1, 2019, Willkie client Zurich Insurance Group completed its previously announced acquisition of the Latin American insurance operations of Australian insurer QBE Insurance Group Limited for $409 million. The transaction involved the purchase of QBE’s insurance businesses in Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. The deal positions Zurich as the leading insurer in Argentina and third leading insurer in Ecuador. The Willkie deal team was led by partners Thomas Cerabino and Maria-Leticia Ossa Daza.
