The firm and several attorneys individually were recognized for outstanding pro bono service in 2018.
On October 16, the Legal Aid Society presented Willkie once again with several Pro Bono Publico Awards recognizing exceptional service to the Society and its clients. In addition to recognizing the firm, partners Mary Eaton and Wesley Powell, senior counsel Bart Schwartz and associates Timothy Fleming, Samuel Kalar and Shaimaa Hussein were honored individually for their service.
Every year, the Society recognizes the “outstanding work of volunteer lawyers, law firms, corporations and other professionals who participate in the Society’s Pro Bono Program by providing exceptional services to low-income New Yorkers.” The awards were presented by the Honorable Rolando T. Acosta, the Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division First Department.
