exocad is an independent developer of dental software solutions.
On September 11, it was announced that The Carlyle Group has acquired a majority stake in Willkie client exocad GmbH, a provider of software for the dental industry. Willkie advised Fraunhofer Institut and the founders of exocad in the sale of their stakes, as well as the founders on their reinvestment.
exocad, an independent developer of dental CAD/CAM (computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing) software solutions, is headquartered in Germany and has five offices worldwide. Its products are sold through a diversified network of partners and system-integrators as part of original equipment manufacturers’ CAD/CAM equipment across more than 120 countries worldwide.
The Willkie deal team was led by partner Mario Schmidt and national partner Axel Wahl and included partners Patrick Meiisel and Susanne Zuehlke; national partners Bettina Bokeloh, Christian Rolf and Jasmin Dettmar; and associates Andreas Feith, Wolfgang Münchow, Johannes Eckhardt and Andreas Knödler.
