Willkie represents sponsors and project company in public-private partnership project for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a new 476-bed hospital in Yozgat, Turkey. 

International infrastructure investor Meridiam and leading Turkish construction company Rönesans announced the signing and financial closing of their second healthcare public-private partnership project in the city of Yozgat, Turkey.  Willkie represented the sponsors, which include Meridiam (36.5%), Rönesans (36.5%), Sila Group (13.5%) and Sam Yapi (13.5%), and the project company that they incorporated for purposes of this project. The deal provides for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a new 476-bed hospital.

The project, with capital expenditure of €140 million, is financed by sponsors through equity and quasi-equity of €30 million and by senior loans of €110 million made available by SMBC, BTMU, Siemens Bank and Intesa Sanpaolo. The financing also benefited from a guarantee issued by MIGA (Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency of the World Bank group).

Earlier in the year, Willkie advised on the first healthcare PPP project in Turkey, a €550 million facility in Adana, Turkey.

The current deal was led by partner Amir Jahanguiri and included associates Emilie Patoux, Roy Charles Bates and Cédric Gamambaye Dionmou.
