Mr. Drewes is one of only six attorneys nationwide to be named “Rising Star” for real estate.

For the second consecutive year, partner David Drewes has been profiled in Law360’s “Rising Star” series, which features top legal talent under the age of 40.  Mr. Drewes was one of only six attorneys nationwide to be named a “Rising Star” in the area of real estate. Winners were selected based on the strength of their accomplishments in their respective practice areas thus far in their careers.

The profile, which ran on April 22, notes that Mr. Drewes has helped clients close billions of dollars’ worth of transactions over the last few years. Highlighted transactions in which Mr. Drewes took a leading role included Washington Prime Group Inc.’s $4.3 billion acquisition of Glimcher Realty Trust, which included a $1.09 billion sale of two Glimcher properties to help fund the merger. Mr. Drewes also worked on the real estate aspects of Men’s Wearhouse Inc.’s $1.8 billion acquisition of retailer Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc. last year, and a recent sale of a portfolio of rental properties that has been called one of the largest bulk purchases in the rental-home industry.
