Leading market research firm IHS Inc. agrees to acquire Willkie client GlobalSpec, Inc., a Warburg Pincus portfolio company.
On June 12, market research firm IHS Inc. announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Willkie client GlobalSpec, Inc., a portfolio company of private equity firm Warburg Pincus. GlobalSpec is the leading specialized vertical search, product information and digital media company serving the engineering, manufacturing and related scientific and technical market segments. With approximately 5,900 employees in more than 30 countries, Englewood, Colorado-based IHS is the leading source of market information and analytics. The deal was handled by partners Steven Gartner, Mark Cognetti, Christopher Peters and Thomas Golden, and associates Jennifer Wade and Angela Redai.
