PAI partners and Sagard Private Equity reach agreement whereby PAI will acquire equipment-hire company Kiloutou from Sagard SAS.

On April 5, it was announced that Willkie client PAI partners and Sagard Private Equity reached an agreement whereby PAI will acquire equipment-hire company Kiloutou from Sagard SAS for €535 million ($760.4 million). The transaction is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities. Marcq-en-Baroeul, France-based Kiloutou, with 2,100 employees, operates as a construction equipment rental company, leasing DIY, heating, air conditioning, and gardening equipment to building trade professionals, civil engineering firms, manufacturers, and individuals.

In March, Willkie advised PAI partners in the $1.1 billion sale of its 50 percent stake in Yoplait to General Mills and in its pending $1 billion sale of UK automotive repair company Kwik-Fit Group Ltd. to Japanese trading house Itochu Corp.

The current deal was handled partner Christophe Garaud and associates Xavier Doumen, Brice Voillequin, Mathieu Frick and Paul Guillemin (corporate); partner Jacques Philippe Gunther and associates Agathe Richard and Marion Bailly (antitrust); and special European counsel Philippe Grudé, European and associate Solenn Messerli (tax).
