Defense contractor DRS Technologies Inc. announces plans to acquire Engineered Support Systems Inc. for about $1.97 billion.
On September 22, defense contractor DRS Technologies Inc. announced plans to acquire Engineered Support Systems Inc. for about $1.97 billion. Willkie assisted Lehman Brothers Inc., financial adviser to ESS, in the transaction. The merged companies are expected to become a leading supplier for military forces, intelligence agencies and international military operations, generating revenues in excess of $2.5 billion. DRS expects the merger will further its leadership position in the market, strengthen technological and satellite capacity, and increase the company’s capabilities in the area of homeland security.
