Telefonos de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. and certain related entities agree to sell their entire  equity interest in MCI, Inc. to Verizon Communications Inc. for over $1.1 billion.    

On April 9, it was announced that Willkie client Telefonos de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (Telmex) and certain related entities entered into an agreement to sell their entire  equity interest in MCI, Inc. to Verizon Communications Inc. for over $1.1 billion.      As reported in The Wall Street Journal, the approximately 43.4 million MCI shares to be sold to Verizon represent approximately 13.4% of MCI's outstanding common stock.  As reported in the April 14 New York Law Journal, the Willkie team on the deal includes partners Myron Trepper, David Boston, Richard Reinhold and John Longmire, and associates Adam Turteltaub, Thomas Mark and Matthew Guercio.
