On October 15, after winning investor support, Swiss reinsurer Converium Holding AG closed on a $420 million capital increase.   The deal was reported in the October 14 Wall Street Journal.  Willkie partners Gregory Astrachan and Richard Reinhold, and associates Stuart Rubin, Thomas Mark, Russell Albanese and Natasha Friedrichs represented Converium in the transaction.  Converium, an independent global reinsurer, writes all major lines of nonlife and life reinsurance through local offices worldwide.
