Willkie has been recognized for its role in three matters that are shortlisted for top honors at Latin Lawyer’s 2026 Deal of the Year Awards.
Willkie advised on one of the year’s outstanding private equity deals and served as counsel to the unsecured creditors’ committee in two separate chapter 11 cases that are shortlisted for restructuring of the year:
- Private Equity – Willkie served as counsel to CMA CGM Group on its more than $1 billion acquisition of an approximate 48% stake in Santos Brasil Participações S/A, the leading terminal operator in Brazil
- Restructuring – Willkie served as counsel to the official committee of unsecured creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Chilean telecom company WOM S.A. and Brazilian airline Azul S.A.
The Deal of the Year Awards recognize the law firms and general counsel that worked on the most significant transactions in the Latin America market. The winners will be announced at an event on May 7 in São Paulo.
