Willkie has once again been recognized among the industry’s most innovative law firms in the 2025 edition of the Financial Times North America Innovative Lawyers report.

FT recognized Willkie’s innovative legal work as well as its success across a number of business and cultural metrics, ranking the firm 11th overall. Notably, Willkie is among the top-scoring firms for financial growth between 2021-2024, and ranks among the standouts in the social responsibility category, highlighting the firm’s commitment to pro bono service, community engagement and sustainability.

In addition, Willkie’s accomplishments in both technological innovation and major transactions have been spotlighted in the report’s best practice case studies:

  • Willkie is “highly commended” in the digital tools category for its development of cutting-edge litigation technology that automates the drafting of claimant declarations. The AI platform supported Willkie’s advocacy in a groundbreaking mass action against Iran on behalf of American servicemembers and civilians killed or wounded in Iraq and their families. Willkie has won more than $4 billion in damages against Iran in a series of lawsuits for its support of terrorism.
  • Willkie is “commended” as one of the year’s innovative dealmakers for advising Saks Global on its landmark acquisition of Neiman Marcus Group for a total enterprise value of $2.7 billion. The complex deal recast the luxury retail market and involved separating Saks from its parent, Hudson’s Bay Company, and bringing existing and new investors – a group that includes Amazon, Authentic Brands Group, Salesforce and G-III Apparel Group – into a combined partnership.

Financial Times published the Innovative Lawyers report as part of the Innovative Lawyers Awards North America 2025, its annual award series recognizing the legal industry’s most innovative leaders, law firms and corporate departments.
