A. Kristina Littman and John D. Mitchell have been named to Securities Docket’s “2025 Enforcement Elite,” a list of the best securities enforcement defense counsel in the industry. 

Securities Docket recognized Kristy Littman, partner in Willkie’s Litigation Department and Co-Chair of the Securities Enforcement and Willkie Digital Works Practice Groups, as one of the industry’s leading-edge litigators. She represents corporations, registrants and individuals in complex disputes, including regulatory enforcement and white collar defense. She also counsels clients on cryptocurrency and digital assets regulation and cybersecurity matters, including investigations and enforcement actions by financial regulators. 

Kristy previously served as the Chief of the Crypto Assets and Cyber Unit in the Division of Enforcement of the SEC. She spearheaded novel enforcement actions relating to crypto lending platforms, multibillion-dollar token issuances, crypto trading funds and touting. During her 12 years at the SEC, Kristy held various senior attorney and leadership positions, including serving as Senior Advisor to then SEC Chairman Jay Clayton on enforcement matters and regulatory and policy matters pertaining to digital assets, cybersecurity, and Trading and Markets.

John Mitchell, counsel in Willkie’s Litigation Department and member of the White-Collar Defense, Securities Litigation & Enforcement, and Investigations & Enforcement Practice Groups, was recognized for his leadership and achievements as a high-stakes trial attorney and litigator. He represents companies and individuals in government and internal investigations as well as in complex civil and criminal matters in federal courts throughout the United States. John previously served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago and as a Senior Attorney in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement.

In addition to his successful representation of individuals and companies in SEC investigations, John’s recent accomplishments include leading the Willkie team that secured dismissal of all remaining charges against client Michael McClain after a mistrial was declared in a federal criminal public corruption trial.
