Willkie has been ranked 9th in the 2023 Diversity Scorecard by The American Lawyer, highlighting the racial and ethnic diversity of its lawyers at every level and recognizing the firm’s commitment to recruiting and advancing diverse talent.
The ranking places Willkie among the very top firms for diversity, equity and inclusion in the Am Law 200. The annual survey goes beyond overall head counts and factors in the diversity of firm leadership, and this year added metrics for the percentage of partner hires, departures and promotions that were diverse.
The Diversity Scorecard ranks law firms based on an aggregate score across three separate categories evaluating racial and ethnic diversity across lawyer head count by role; leadership of the Executive Committee, offices and practice and industry groups; and their hiring, retention and promotion of diverse talent.
