Willkie has been named as a finalist in two categories at the upcoming Deal Awards 2022, recognizing leading advisers, firms, lawyers, bankers and investors who power the deal economy.
Steve Seidman, a partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Corporate & Financial Services Department and Co-Chair of the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group, is named as a finalist for Most Outstanding Dealmaker of the Year, one of the the top honors at The Deal Awards.
Willkie is also named as a finalist for Financial Services Law Firm of the Year, recognizing leading firms for financial services transactions.
In addition, the firm served as counsel in the following shortlisted deals:
- Most Outstanding Deal of the Year- Canadian Pacific Merger with Kansas City Southern
Willkie served as counsel to Kansas City Southern’s financial advisors in the deal, valued at approximately $31 billion. - Restructuring of the Year- Hertz Global Holdings Chapter 11 Restructuring
Willkie served as counsel to an ad hoc group of noteholders holding over $1.6 billion of Hertz’s senior unsecured notes and negotiated multiple transactions in Hertz’s global restructuring. - Private Equity Deal of the Year- PAI Partners Acquisition of Tropicana, Naked Juice Brands from PepsiCo
Willkie served as counsel to longstanding client PAI Partners in the $3.3 billion transaction.
The winners will be announced on September 29, 2022 in New York.
