Alex Weingarten, Managing Partner of Willkie’s Los Angeles Office and Chair of the Firm’s Entertainment Litigation Practice, and partner Eric Bakewell have been named among the 2022 “Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

They were recognized among “the very best litigators and trial attorneys” in the Los Angeles region and profiled in a special publication spotlighting “the trusted advisors you want in your corner in court.”

The publication noted Alex’s record of success in “bet-the-company” business, probate and entertainment litigation and his ability to provide novel strategies and a direct route to victory for his clients. It highlighted his success in helping to launch Willkie’s Los Angeles office in 2021 and its rapid expansion as well as his work in high-profile disputes, including his current representation of Jamie Spears, the father and former conservator of Britney Spears, in a case relating to the transition of the pop star’s conservatorship.

Eric was recognized for his accomplishments in entertainment, trust and estate, intellectual property, privacy, and other complex commercial litigation. Los Angeles Business Journal highlighted his representation of Skidata and Sentry Control Systems in a privacy class action, and his work in a dispute relating to a family trust established by a California real estate magnate. Eric’s extensive experience enables him to provide clients with pre-litigation solutions as well as formidable trial counsel.
