Law360 Profiles Allison Tam as 2020 MVP

Ms. Tam is among six attorneys nationwide honored for accomplishments in Insurance.

Partner Allison Tam, a member of the firm’s Insurance Transactional and Regulatory Group, was profiled for Law360’s 2020 MVP series as one of six attorneys in the Insurance category. Among her achievements over the past year, she is recognized for her leading role advising KKR, a global investment firm, on its $4.4 billion acquisition of Bermuda-based privately owned insurer Global Atlantic Financial Group.

In the article, Law360 highlights the unique aspects of the deal, which was the largest announced life insurance-sector acquisition of the year to date. The article also discusses her work on another major life insurance-sector acquisition this year – Fidelity National Financial’s $2.7 billion acquisition of FGL Holdings, how she maintains work-life balance as a parent and lawyer, her advice for junior attorneys, and what drives her success.

“They've come to me and trusted me with their largest matters," she said about her clients. "And being able to see it through and make sure it's done in the way that they want and getting the best ... for the clients really motivates me."

The annual Law360 MVP awards honor lawyers who have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in complex global matters and record-breaking deals. Honorees are selected from among more than 900 applicants across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions, both in the US and internationally.
