Law360 discussed how partners in Willkie's New York and London offices worked together to exonerate Rabobank's Anthony Allen from Libor manipulation charges in a cornerstone case before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit (U.S. v. Anthony Allen). The firm achieved a major victory this past July when a Second Circuit panel found that federal prosecutors relied on inadmissible testimony obtained by UK authorities. The article also highlights the group’s success on behalf of hedge fund Deerfield Management Co. in reaching a favorable settlement in August with the SEC in the agency’s insider trading case against the company.
