The Sylvia Rivera Law Project (SRLP) presented the firm and Mary Eaton with the 2014 “Attorneys and Advocate Award” at a ceremony on November 18. The award recognizes recipients’ “tireless commitment to reducing systematic discrimination and violence and ensuring greater access to safety and survival for transgender people who are low-income, people of color and immigrants.” Willkie and Ms. Eaton were recognized for their “unparalleled leadership” as a partner in SRLP’s Medicaid campaign, which seeks to provide safe and affirming healthcare to low-income transgender New Yorkers.
