He represents private equity firms and companies in a wide range of corporate transactions across a variety of industries, including financial services, insurance, manufacturing and retail. Daniel advises clients on mergers and other business combinations, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, equity investments and corporate governance matters.

  • Represented The Sterling Group in its establishment of Frontline Road Safety, a new platform formed to build a national leader in the US road safety industry, and the completion of the acquisition of Stripe-A-Zone, Inc. as the first member of the Frontline family of companies.
  • Represented Franchise Group, Inc. in its acquisitions of the Sears Outlet stores business and American Freight Group, Inc.
  • Represented Vintage Capital in the sale of Buddy’s Home Furnishings to Liberty Tax, Inc.
  • Represented The Sterling Group in the acquisition of Polychem Corporation, a leader in the securement packaging industry.
  • Represented Aquiline Capital Partners in its acquisition of Relation Insurance Services.
  • Represented Cowen Inc. in its $115 million acquisition of Quarton International, a leading global financial advisory company serving the middle market.
  • Represented Victory Capital in its $850 million acquisition of USAA Asset Management Company.
  • Represented Genstar Capital in its acquisition of a majority stake in Cetera Financial Services, a network of independent broker-dealers.
  • Represented Genstar Capital in its $720 million acquisition of Institutional Shareholder Services.
  • Represented SpareFoot, a leading online marketplace for self-storage, in its acquisition of SiteLink, a global leader in self-storage management software and in-house payment processing, and the sale of SpareFoot to Cove Hill Partners.
  • Represented Apollo Global Management in the following transactions:
    • $6.9 billion leveraged buyout of the ADT Corporation.
    • $2.2 billion leveraged buyout of Diamond Resorts International, Inc.
    • Acquisition of Protection 1 and Alarm Security Group.
    • Equity syndication for the $7.1 billion leveraged buyout of El Paso Corporation’s oil & gas exploration business.
    • Restructuring of EP Energy Corporation and its subsequent $700 million initial public offering.
    • $700 million investment commitment in oil and gas producer, Zenergy, LLC.
  • Represented Searchlight Capital Partners in the following transactions:
    • $175 million acquisition of national branding and creative services agency 160Over90.
    • Purchase of 10,000,000 shares in Communications Sales & Leasing, Inc., a REIT engaged in the acquisition and construction of communications infrastructure.
