William J. Montemarano, III is an associate in the litigation department.  Bill focuses on complex commercial litigations and investigations.  He has represented investment firms, insurers, and Fortune 500 companies in commercial disputes in federal and state courts and in investigations and inquiries by government agencies, including the SEC, DOJ, EEOC, and NYS Division of Human Rights.  Prior to practicing law, Bill was a certified public accountant and held positions in the tax and management consulting practices of a big-four accounting firm and with a global investment bank.  While in law school, he worked at the SEC in the Division of Enforcement and participated in investigations and enforcement actions related to insider trading, fraud, judgment enforcement, and other securities law violations.  Bill leverages his financial acumen and experience to represent clients in matters which have involved claims under the federal securities laws, the False Claims Act, Title VII, and other state and federal laws.  In addition to his commercial work, Bill also maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented U.S. military veterans and a New York City provider of homeless services.
