Amanda Maxfield
Associate, Intellectual Property
Amanda Maxfield is an associate in Willkie’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. She represents clients across a broad range of industries, including life sciences, pharmaceuticals, mechanical, and electronic technologies. Amanda has experience in all stages of district court litigation, from contributing to case strategy development to managing both fact and expert discovery.
Prior to joining Willkie, Amanda was an intellectual property associate at a Chicago-based law firm, where her practice focused on patent litigation and prosecution, including evaluating patentability for clients. She also served as a legal extern for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, gaining valuable insight into federal trial and appellate procedures. Holding a master’s degree in chemistry, Amanda worked as a chemist for a Fortune 500 coatings company before beginning her legal career. In that role, she evaluated innovative coating technologies—bringing a strong technical foundation to her intellectual property practice.
