Josh Martin is an associate in Willkie’s Litigation Department. He represents clients in high stakes matters across substantive areas including contract disputes, constitutional and statutory claims, and shareholder litigation. Josh has experience with drafting dispositive motions, managing discovery, depositions, oral arguments, and preparing and examining fact witnesses. His experience spans federal court, state court, alternative dispute resolution, and investigations. Josh has served as lead associate on an arbitration from answering statement through hearing. In a pro bono case, Josh has victoriously argued before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
As a member of Willkie’s Pro Bono Committee, Josh maintains an active pro-bono practice, representing non-profit organizations in litigation and counseling matters. Josh serves as co-chair of the Pro Bono Engagement Committee on the Associate Board of Legal Aid Chicago, a Legal Services Corporation.
Josh received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as a policy editor of the Harvard Law and Policy Review and editor Harvard’s Journal on Legislation. He served as an elected student government representative each year on campus. Josh received a B.A. with distinction from the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy with a minor in the Ross School of Business.
