Nikita Kumar is a partner in Willkie’s Restructuring Department. She is based in the Firm’s London office.

Nikita counsels clients on domestic and cross-border stressed and distressed situations, including debt restructurings and liability management exercises. She has represented a variety of stakeholders, including creditors, debtors, sponsors and insolvency practitioners, on various restructuring matters. Nikita also has significant experience advising funds on private credit restructurings.

  • Recognized by The Legal 500 United Kingdom as a “Leading Associate” for Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency, 2025
  • The ad hoc group of bondholders to Pizza Express on its debt restructuring
  • Funds managed by KKR as sponsor and secured creditors in relation to all aspects of their investment in Accell Group, including its comprehensive recapitalization, implemented through a U.K. scheme of arrangement
  • Certain funds advised by KKR Credit as second lien lenders to the Wittur group in relation to its financial restructuring, involving €1bn of debt
  • Funds managed by Pemberton Capital Advisers in relation to its private credit investment including its comprehensive financial restructuring and debt-for-equity swap
  • Funds managed by Barings in relation to its private credit investment including its comprehensive financial restructuring
  • TDR Capital and Hurtigruten Group in connection with its financial restructuring
  • The ad hoc group of lenders to the Praesidiad group in relation to its financial restructuring
