

Matthew Johnson is an associate in the Communications & Media practice group. His practice focuses on communications and technology law and policy, in advocacy before the Federal Communications Commission, as well as state public utility commissions, state and local franchising authorities, and courts. He advises communications service providers and equipment manufacturers on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters, including regulation of broadband, cable television, and other communications services, cable franchising, communications infrastructure policy, spectrum policy, competition policy, and appellate review of agency decisions.

Representing Comcast Corporation in FCC rulemakings on broadband regulation, infrastructure deployment policy, preemption of state and local regulatory authority, cable franchising, reallocation and sharing of spectrum for wireless voice and broadband services, and other issues

Representing Comcast Corporation in various cable franchising and related matters before state and local regulatory bodies, including in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Representing Comcast Corporation before the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon in litigation regarding the imposition of right-of-way fees on broadband services
