Marc Hecht is a partner in Willkie’s Restructuring Department. He is based in the Firm’s London office.
Marc has more than a decade of experience advising on financial stress, distress, restructuring and insolvency matters for varied stakeholders, including creditor groups, capital and liquidity solution providers, secondary investors, par lenders, sponsors and portfolio companies. His practice has included guiding clients through some of the largest and most complex European and cross-border restructurings across numerous industries in recent years.

- Represented BC Partners in respect of the restructuring of the Keter Group, involving debt of €1.6bn
- Represented TDR Capital and Hurtigruten in connection with the group’s recapitalization, involving €1.3bn of debt
- Represented bondholder and operating partner of Farfetch in connection with Farfetch’s restructuring, involving €1.8bn of debt
- Represented the joint administrators of the Global Brands Group involving multiple material asset disposals of joint venture and other assets across 60+ jurisdictions
- Represented the ad hoc group of lenders to Steinhoff Europe AG in respect of the €8 billion financial restructuring of the Steinhoff group and various DIP lenders to Steinhoff’s U.S. business, Mattress Firm in connection with its chapter 11 in the U.S.
- Represented DTEK, Ukraine’s leading privately owned energy company, on the restructuring of its entire capital structure which included various English schemes of arrangement and a consensual override of its bank facilities
- Represented Bibby Offshore in connection with its debt for equity restructuring implemented through an English scheme of arrangement
- Represented the LATAM Airlines group and joint provisional liquidators in connection with restructuring implemented through a coordinated chapter 11 in the U.S. and related provisional liquidations in Cayman
- Represented various private equity sponsors in connection with their existing portfolios
