Ren-How Harn is a partner in the Intellectual Property Department. With a background in chemical engineering, Ren-How litigates and counsels in a wide variety of technologies, including biotechnology, material science, wireless, and mechanical technologies. Ren-How also assists clients with competitive patent portfolio analysis and counseling.

Ren-How also frequently represents clients before the Patent Trials and Appeals Board in various post-grant proceedings, including inter partes reviews and interference proceedings. In addition to Ren-How’s PTAB practice, he also regularly represents clients in Hatch-Waxman litigation.  

Ren-How Harn was selected as a 2023 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow and he also participated in the LCLD 2021 Pathfinder Program. He cares deeply about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession.  In addition to being the co-chair of the office’s Affinity Group and being a member of the firm’s D&I Committee, Ren-How is deeply involved in associate recruitment and retention as a co-chair of the Willkie Chicago summer associate program.

Ren-How Harn was selected as a 2023 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow. The LCLD Fellows Program connects high-potential attorneys with general counsel and managing partners for a year-long, multi-tiered professional development series.  The program is designed to increase diversity at the leadership levels of the nation’s top law firms and corporate legal departments.  Ren-How also participated in the LCLD 2021 Pathfinder Program.
