Arash Farhadieh is a partner in the Asset Management Department. Arash has extensive experience in advising private fund managers on all aspects of their business including structuring and formation of a wide range of domestic and international investment funds ranging from less than $50 million to over $20 billion in size, incentivization plans, management company arrangements, co-investment arrangements, and related regulatory compliance across a broad range of investment strategies, and geographic areas including U.S., Europe and Emerging Markets.

Arash has advised sponsors and institutions on numerous transactions involving formation of strategic partnerships, establishment of asset management platforms, GP-stake sales and joint ventures. Arash also regularly advises clients on secondary transaction matters, including GP-led secondary transactions.

Chambers USA (2023) ranks Arash among the leading individuals practicing in the area of Private Equity: Fund Formation, which highlights “his ability to handle complex formations on both an domestic and international level” and his experience in “[…] providing counsel on secondary transactions.” 

Arash has been recognized in The Legal 500 US in the Private Equity Funds category.

  • Speaker, “Bespoke Fund Solutions and the Use of Secondaries," Maples Investment Funds Forum (February 29, 2024)

  • Represented Insight Partners on the closing of Continuation Fund II with aggregate commitments of $1.3 billion.
  • Represented Insight Partners in the closing of Fund XII and its dedicated co-investment fund, with aggregate commitments in excess of $20 billion.
  • Represented a global insurance company in the sale of approximately $300 million of limited partnership interests in private equity funds.
  • Represented Wazee Street Capital in the formation of Fund V, which invests primarily in stressed and distressed credit opportunities.
  • Represented Insight Partners in the closing of Opportunities Fund I with aggregate commitments of $1.5 billion.
  • Represented a leading private equity sponsor in connection with a $1.4 billion GP-led secondary transaction which involved the sale of more than 30 portfolio companies held by several of its existing investment funds to a new investment fund managed by the GP, allowing the client to generate distributions for its existing investors while retaining the ability to continue to manage the assets for the benefit of investors, new and existing. 
  • Represented Insight Partners in the closing of Fund XI with aggregate commitments of $9.5 billion.
  • Represented a global investment bank in the formation of a $900 million Insurance Linked Securities Fund, which will invest in discontinued property and casualty business from insurers, reinsurers and other entities.
  • Represented Insight Partners in the closing of Fund X with aggregate commitments of $6.3 billion.
  • Represented a global private equity sponsor in the formation of an $11 billion global private equity fund.
  • Represented a private equity sponsor in connection with a complex structured financing arrangement that allowed the sponsor to materially increase its GP commitment to its flagship fund. 
  • Represented a private fund sponsor in the formation of a $780 million credit opportunity fund.
  • Represented a private fund sponsor in the formation of a $450 million credit focused permanent capital vehicle with an institutional investor.
  • Represented a financial institution in the formation of a $400 million mezzanine fund.
  • Represented a global private fund sponsor in the formation of a $300 million credit focused co-investment and pledge fund with a Sovereign Wealth Fund.
  • Represented a global insurance company in the sale of approximately $400 million of limited partnership interests in real estate funds.
