Sam Eckland is a partner in the firm’s Communications & Media Department.  Sam advises communications service providers, media companies, and their investors on a full range of complex transactional, rulemaking, litigation, and compliance matters before the FCC and other federal and state regulators.  Sam counsels clients on a broad array of high-stakes proceedings, including:

  • Structuring and securing regulatory approvals for mergers and acquisitions. 
  • Advocating in rulemakings, including those related to broadband regulation and grant programs, media ownership, and cable and broadcast regulatory matters. 
  • Representing clients in appeals of agency orders, as well as in a range of FCC complaint and enforcement proceedings, including those related to retransmission consent negotiations, program carriage, and telecommunications service rates.  
Drawing on experience in both the public and private sectors, Sam also advises clients on broader public policy matters, working to craft and execute cohesive advocacy strategies across all levels and branches of government.
