Michael Arena is counsel in Willkie’s Finance Department. He is based in the Firm's New York office, and his practice focuses on a broad variety of complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions. He represents both private credit and syndicates of lenders, as well as the full spectrum of borrowers, from small businesses, to private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, to investment grade corporations. Mr. Arena is versed in numerous financing structures, including leveraged acquisition financings, syndicated loan transactions, direct lending transactions, private equity fund financings, bridge facilities, refinancings, debt restructurings, asset-based lending, junior lien and mezzanine loans, preferred equity financings, and general corporate working capital facilities.
