Willkie was selected as counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Air Baltic Corp. AS (“Air Baltic”), Latvia’s flagship carrier.
Air Baltic filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on September 14, 2026, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to restructure roughly $503 million in funded debt and $855.6 million of long-term lease liabilities. The carrier plans to shrink its all A220 fleet from 54 to 36 aircraft while continuing normal operations, backed by €350 million in debtor-in-possession financing.
